Job Title: Senior Claims Representative – Professional Liability

 

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced claims professional to manage a diverse portfolio of miscellaneous professional liability (MPL) claims. This remote position involves direct handling of both litigated and non-litigated files across a range of professions, including but not limited to attorneys, accountants, real estate professionals, insurance agents, allied health practitioners, and consultants. The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of MPL coverages.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active caseload of litigated and non-litigated MPL claims with varying complexity
  • Analyze and resolve coverage issues and evaluate risk transfer opportunities
  • Collaborate with defense counsel on litigation strategy, budgeting, and expert selection
  • Participate in mediations and negotiate settlements within assigned authority
  • Draft clear and concise coverage position letters and other key claim documentation
  • Maintain accurate file documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards
  • Monitor and manage loss adjustment expenses in coordination with billing processes
  • Ensure timely and adequate reserving on assigned files
  • Participate in occasional travel for mediations, trials, trainings, or related meetings
  • Maintain current adjuster licenses and stay compliant with state requirements

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Active adjuster license in home state required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing MPL claims, including at least 1 year handling a litigated desk
  • Strong knowledge of MPL coverages and litigation management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet-based applications
  • Industry designations such as AIC, SCLA, or CPCU preferred
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in sensitive and complex situations
