Job Summary:
An independent insurance agency located in Edwardsville, IL is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their team! They prefer two years of accounting experience and someone who is proficient in Excel and Outlook. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting various financial functions. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, an understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
General accounting and bookkeeping, processing bank deposits and reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, creating & evaluating agency accounting reports, identify and communicate accounting and bookkeeping matters with other team members, direct oversite of book reconciliation for assets and liabilities and manage month end closing procedures.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or similar environment.
Skills:
Experience with an agency management system would be helpful but not required.
Looking for a candidate that is professional with good analytical skills, attention to detail and works well with a team.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex formulas and financial models.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Insurance industry experience is a plus.
