Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Contract Surety Underwriter to assist in managing our existing surety portfolio segment in Latin America. This role involves conducting renewals, monitoring portfolio developments, and actively participating in industry conferences to market our services with brokers and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop the existing surety portfolio segment in Latin America.

• Conduct renewal, monitoring, and development activities for the portfolio.

• Market our services with brokers and clients during industry conferences.

• Conduct client visits and perform underwriting reviews as needed.

• Analyze and evaluate all surety treaty and facultative offers.

• Review and underwrite client special acceptance submissions.

• Collaborate with team leaders and product heads in the United States and Europe, providing quarterly reports on market conditions and portfolio profitability.

• Work closely with claims and actuarial teams to ensure effective portfolio management.

• Aggregate control management by principal, cedent, country, and underwriting year.

• Monitor exposure across principals and other group units to maintain tolerance levels.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 10+ years of primary surety underwriting experience in the Latin American market.

• Fluency in both oral and written English and Spanish.

• Exposure to guaranty-related products such as trade credit, political risk, and mortgage risk is advantageous.

• Excellent communication and marketing skills, with a strong client focus.

• Strong financial or economic background with proficiency in financial analytics, including the ability to analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows provided by brokers and clients.
