Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join a team. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, jurisdictional expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our stakeholders.

Compensation Package

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze workers’ compensation claims to determine coverage, compensability, and appropriate resolutions.
  • Collaborate with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders to manage claims effectively.
  • Develop and execute action plans to resolve claims, including evaluating damages, negotiating settlements, and engaging external resources as needed.
  • Establish and maintain accurate reserves to reflect financial exposure.
  • Manage litigated claims in collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Review and interpret commercial insurance policies to address coverage issues.
  • Maintain compliance with jurisdictional requirements and licensing.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years handling workers’ compensation indemnity claims of medium complexity/severity, with jurisdictional expertise in Wisconsin (required). Experience with Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, or Michigan is a plus.
  • Licensing: Must hold appropriate state licenses for the jurisdictions covered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Guidewire (Claims Center) is a plus.
  • Certifications: AIC or SLA certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10% and travel daily between locations as needed.
  • Must have access to a personal computer.
