Position Overview:
Our client, a well-established and highly regarded insurance carrier, is seeking a Senior General Liability Claims Examiner – Bodily Injury to join their team. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of complex, high-exposure bodily injury claims from inception through resolution, while delivering exceptional customer service and driving timely, cost-effective outcomes. This is a fully onsite position, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with leadership, legal partners, and internal stakeholders in a dynamic claims environment.

Compensation:

  • $160,000 - $190,000/year (based on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of General Liability Bodily Injury claims, including complex and high-severity exposures
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including liability and damages assessments
  • Evaluate coverage, determine claim exposure, and establish appropriate reserves
  • Direct and manage defense counsel, including litigation strategy and budgeting
  • Negotiate settlements and drive claims to resolution within authority limits
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of all claim activity
  • Communicate effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and best practices

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience adjudicating General Liability Bodily Injury claims
  • Extensive experience handling claims with exposures of $100,000 or greater
  • Deep knowledge of liability evaluation, damages assessment, and litigation management
  • Proven ability to manage complex claims independently from start to finish
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities
