Liability Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled and experienced Liability Claims Adjuster to join a team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and processing insurance claims to determine the extent of the insurance carrier’s liability. You will handle claims of moderate to severe complexity, including third-party bodily injury and property damage claims, while ensuring compliance with all state Department of Insurance regulations.

Compensation Package

• Salary: Up to $90,000 per year (depending on experience) + bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve litigated and non-litigated claims of moderate to severe complexity.
• Evaluate liability, negotiate settlements, and document claims files with findings.
• Prepare releases, reservation of rights letters, and denials of liability.
• Handle premises liability claims and injury evaluations.
• Prepare large loss reports for claims involving severe injuries.
• Maintain open communication with clients, insureds, claimants, attorneys, and medical facilities.
• Ensure compliance with state Department of Insurance regulations.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of multi-line claims handling at an insurer or TPA.
• 5+ years of experience in liability claims, including handling complex bodily injury claims.
• Experience with premises liability claims and injury evaluation.
• Familiarity with litigated claims and effective communication in such cases.
