Claims Examiner - Commercial Auto Property Damage

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Claims Examiner specializing in Commercial Auto Property Damage to join a team. This role involves managing, processing, and resolving 1st and 3rd party Commercial Material Damage claims within defined authority. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial/transportation claims handling, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to claim resolution. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite at one of the office locations.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year, plus up to 10% bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Directly handle 1st and 3rd party Commercial Transportation and Trucking Physical Damage claims, including coverage, liability, damages, and reserves.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve claims in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage subrogation, arbitration, and salvage processes.
  • Collaborate with appraisers, investigators, adjusters, and experts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive claim files, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
  • Review and verify policy limits, deductibles, locations, exclusions, and endorsements.
  • Monitor claim status for potential exposure opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of claims handling experience, preferably within the commercial/transportation field.
  • Proven experience in handling commercial trucking, bus, and/or commercial auto claims is required. Experience with moving and storage cargo claims is a plus.
  • AIC or CPCU designation is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial transportation policies, including trucking policies.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in claim investigation and resolution.
