Underwriting Operations Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Underwriting Operations Specialist to join a team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating training, developing resources, and driving continuous improvement within the underwriting department.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the training manager to facilitate new-hire onboarding and ongoing department training sessions, covering topics such as underwriting systems, workers' compensation, property, liability, and commercial auto coverage.
  • Develop and maintain online underwriting resources, policies, manuals, training materials, and procedures to ensure consistent application across the department.
  • Provide support to other departments by sharing underwriting knowledge and expertise to help achieve organizational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing changes to workflows, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Identify problems, research solutions, and collaborate on the design and implementation of effective resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain tools and resources to support underwriting operations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
  • Preferred insurance industry certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or Associate in Premium Audit.
  • Strong knowledge of NCCI, PAAS, and underwriting business processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and deliver results.
  • Excellent interpersonal, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong decision-making, critical-thinking, and communication abilities.
