Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Commercial Surety Bond Account Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from small “mom-and-pop” businesses to large corporations, with a primary focus on middle-market accounts. This role involves managing commercial surety bonds (especially bid, payment, performance, and maintenance bonds) for construction and contracting clients, ensuring accurate and timely bond processing and effective alignment between clients and underwriters.

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute commercial surety bonds, including bid bonds, payment bonds, performance bonds, and maintenance bonds
  • Review, prepare, and process bond applications, forms, and financial schedules
  • Engage with clients to identify bond requirements, assess financial updates, and clarify underwriting criteria
  • Coordinate directly with underwriters by providing necessary documentation, financial statements, and bond forms
  • Manage email correspondence related to bond inquiries, status updates, premium calculations, and renewal requirements
  • Maintain and update the bond portfolio, tracking expiration dates, collateral requirements, and ongoing bond obligations
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., underwriting, risk management, accounting) to facilitate accurate quoting, binding, and issuance
  • Monitor industry regulations, market trends, and underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance and optimal bond structuring

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven experience in commercial surety bond account management, with hands-on expertise in general commercial bonds
  • Demonstrated proficiency with construction/contractor bonds (bid, payment, performance, and maintenance bonds)
  • Prior contract bonding experience is preferred
  • P&C license preferred but not strictly required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple accounts concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear email correspondence and client-facing presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with bond processing software / agency management systems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment

 

Compensation Package

  • Compensation: Between $80K–$120K (based on experience)
