Technical Claim Manager - Design Professionals/Construction

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Claim Manager to join a Professional Services Group (PSG). In this role, will handle complex, multi-party professional liability claims involving architects, engineers, and surveyors. Will be responsible for managing claims across a nationwide coverage area, requiring strategic thinking, detailed investigation, and effective attorney management. Compensation Package

  • Base Salary Range: $115,778 - $168,746 per year

Responsibilities

  • Manage professional liability claims involving design professionals, including litigation and pre-litigation disputes.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation.
  • Assess and analyze coverage issues and pursue risk transfer opportunities, including contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
  • Handle claims in accordance with best practices, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Collaborate with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and upper management to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Attend mediations and settlement conferences as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field. A Juris Doctorate with relevant insurance defense litigation experience is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal or insurance-related experience, with meaningful experience handling design professional claims under professional liability policies.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures impacting claims handling.
    • Proficiency in proactive investigation, risk transfer, claim handling, attorney management, and claims resolution.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as needed for mediations and settlement conferences.
