About the Opportunity
Our client, a respected Property & Casualty insurance organization, is seeking an experienced Senior General Liability Claims Examiner to join its growing Claims team. This position is ideal for a seasoned claims professional with extensive coverage knowledge and experience handling complex commercial general liability claims from inception through resolution.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting Reservation of Rights (ROR) letters, conducting detailed coverage analysis, and managing high-exposure liability claims involving premises liability, construction, products liability, and liquor liability exposures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent claims experience.
- 7+ years of commercial General Liability claims handling experience.
- Extensive experience handling complex casualty claims involving:
- Premises Liability
- Slip & Fall
- Construction Defect / Construction Liability
- Product Liability
- Dram Shop / Liquor Liability
- Strong coverage analysis experience with the ability to interpret complex commercial insurance policies.
- Demonstrated experience drafting Reservation of Rights letters, coverage position letters, and denial letters.
- Experience managing litigated claims from assignment through resolution.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and investigative skills.
- Ability to evaluate liability and damages while making sound coverage decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency using electronic claims management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex General Liability claims in accordance with policy provisions and applicable laws.
- Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage, identify potential coverage issues, and communicate claim decisions effectively.
- Draft and issue Reservation of Rights letters, coverage position letters, denial letters, and other coverage-related correspondence.
- Manage claims involving:
- Slip & Fall
- Premises Liability
- Construction Liability
- Product Liability
- Dram Shop / Liquor Liability
- Conduct detailed liability investigations, including witness interviews, evidence review, and analysis of medical records and legal documentation.
- Establish appropriate reserves and maintain accurate claim documentation throughout the life of each claim.
- Negotiate settlements within authority and collaborate with management on high-exposure matters.
- Retain and manage defense counsel, coverage counsel, independent adjusters, and subject matter experts as needed.
- Develop litigation strategies in partnership with defense counsel while monitoring legal expenses and case progression.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, company guidelines, and best claims handling practices.
- Maintain exceptional customer service while balancing the interests of policyholders, claimants, and business partners.
