Actuary - P&C Commercial Lines

A leading global commercial insurance organization is seeking an Actuary to join its growing team in Chicago. This role offers the opportunity to work across pricing and portfolio analytics, partnering closely with underwriting and senior leadership to deliver meaningful business insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of pricing models and tools
• Perform profitability analyses, trend studies, and loss cost reviews
• Partner with Underwriting, Claims, and Finance to evaluate portfolio performance
• Assist with individual account pricing and related analytics
• Research market trends and cost drivers to support pricing strategy
• Prepare clear reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders
• Contribute to peer review processes to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Build and maintain datasets, dashboards, and reporting tools
• Support ad hoc analytical projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• 2 to 3 CAS exams completed or equivalent progress
• Experience with SQL and either Python or R
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to translate complex analysis into business insights

Compensation and Benefits
$80,000 to $120,000 depending on experience

Work Environment
Hybrid schedule with approximately 40 percent in office in Chicago
