Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employee Benefits Account Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join a team. This role involves managing a $2.5 million book of business, primarily consisting of large group accounts (50-100 employees) with occasional support for small group business. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong technical background, experience in self-funding and partial self-funding, and proficiency in BenefitPoint and the Microsoft Suite.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Benefits: Competitive benefits package, 401(k), paid time off, professional development opportunities, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a $2.5 million book of business, focusing on large group accounts (50-100 employees) with occasional support for small group accounts.
  • Provide exceptional client service, including client-facing interactions, data analysis, and consultation.
  • Collaborate with clients to review census data, analyze loss history, and develop tailored benefits solutions.
  • Work closely with carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators (TPAs) such as Members Insurance Trust, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Veres, and Benecan.
  • Partner with external brokers, including The Cason Group, to deliver comprehensive benefits solutions.
  • Utilize BenefitPoint and other agency management systems to maintain accurate records and streamline processes.
  • Contribute to a proactive, tech-forward culture by identifying and implementing process improvements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in employee benefits account management, with a strong preference for candidates with self-funding and partial self-funding experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in BenefitPoint, Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and other agency management systems. Familiarity with Bright, Canva, and other benefits-related software is a plus.
  • Licenses: Life and Health (L&H) license required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Attributes: Self-starter, tech-savvy, entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative, and client-focused.
