Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced New York Labor Law Claims Specialist to join our client’s Claims team. This individual will be responsible for handling complex, high-exposure claims involving New York Labor Law, with a strong focus on construction-related bodily injury matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing claims under NY Labor Law Sections 200, 240, and 241. 

Compensation:

  • $160,000 - $225,000/year (based on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and manage complex New York Labor Law claims from inception through resolution
  • Handle high-exposure construction and bodily injury claims, including catastrophic losses
  • Analyze liability, coverage, and damages in accordance with NY Labor Law statutes
  • Coordinate with defense counsel, vendors, and internal stakeholders to develop effective claim strategies
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as needed
  • Establish and maintain appropriate reserves throughout the lifecycle of each claim
  • Review contracts, risk transfer, and indemnification agreements
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company guidelines

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience handling New York Labor Law claims
  • Strong knowledge of NY Labor Law Sections 200, 240, and 241
  • Extensive experience with construction-related bodily injury claims
  • Proven ability to manage high-exposure and litigated claims
  • Strong negotiation and litigation management skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Juris Doctor preferred, but not required
