Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Underwriter/Broker specializing in Excess & Surplus (E&S) lines to join a dynamic and growing team. Compensation Package

  • Base Salary Range: $75,000 – $115,000
  • Bonus: Sales incentive bonus plan

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and grow a book of business in the commercial lines E&S market.
  • Manage agency relationships and act as the primary client contact.
  • Rate, quote, and bind risks for new and renewal business, focusing on complex accounts.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans to drive growth and achieve performance metrics, including hit ratio, retention, growth, and loss ratio.
  • Submit underwriting referrals to brokerage facilities and leadership as needed.
  • Train and mentor assistant and associate underwriters to foster team development.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in commercial lines underwriting or brokerage, with a strong preference for E&S experience.
  • Licenses/Designations:
    • Property & Casualty (P&C) license preferred.
    • CPCU, CIC, or similar professional designations are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with standard agency management systems; no specific system required.
  • Lines of Business Expertise: Strong knowledge of commercial lines, with a focus on complex, middle-market, and E&S risks.
