Claims Manager
Job Summary
An established insurance agency is seeking a Claims Manager to support personal lines operations and report to senior leadership. This role is responsible for overseeing the claims process from initial reporting through resolution, while also contributing to loss control and risk management initiatives. The position combines client advocacy, technical claims expertise, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure efficient claim outcomes and strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Guide clients through the claims process with professionalism, responsiveness, and technical expertise
- Advocate on behalf of clients regarding coverage determinations, reservation of rights, and complex claim settlements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurance carriers to support retention and satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement risk management strategies
- Maintain accurate and detailed client records within agency management software or claims systems
- Monitor legal, regulatory, and market developments impacting claims and risk exposure
- Provide insights on coverage enhancements based on claim trends and outcomes
- Conduct loss analysis and risk assessments to support client advisory efforts
- Assist with carrier communications related to claims and renewals
Qualifications/Requirements
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license
- Preferred professional designations such as CIC, AIC, or CRM
- Demonstrated experience in claims handling or claims leadership within the insurance industry
- Strong knowledge of Property and Casualty coverage lines
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with effective problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed
Compensation Package
- Base salary starting at $60,000+, depending on experience
