Supervisor, Commercial Property Claims

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supervisor, Commercial Property Claims to join a Commercial Claims department. The successful candidate will oversee a team of commercial property claims adjusters, manage claims, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.

Compensation Package

  • Salary range: $90K-$125K (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of commercial property claims adjusters, ensuring effective claims adjusting, litigation, and case management.
  • Manage a caseload of claims and conduct audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Prepare and participate in claim reviews, and assist with training new and existing employees.
  • Review claims settlements and liability denials for accuracy, content, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with management to hire, train, motivate, supervise, and mentor adjusters.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting claims.
  • Promote excellent customer service and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including attorneys, investigators, policyholders, agents, and providers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in applying claims and state auditing standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of insurance industry designations.
  • A minimum of five years of commercial property claims adjusting experience.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant claims statutes and case law.
  • Thorough understanding of handling complex, litigated claims.
  • Strong knowledge of claims-related terminology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and decision-making abilities.
