Senior Auto Appraiser

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Auto Appraiser to join a growing team. In this role, you will conduct physical and virtual inspections of damaged vehicles, prepare detailed repair estimates, and collaborate with claims adjusters to ensure accurate and efficient claim resolutions.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $75,000 - $95,000/year (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical and/or virtual inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage and determine repairability.
  • Prepare detailed repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software (e.g., CCC One, Audatex, Mitchell).
  • Negotiate repair costs and terms with body shops and vendors to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters to determine total loss vs. repair decisions and support claim resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all appraisals, photographs, and communications.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in automotive repair, insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years in auto appraising, auto body repair estimating, or a related field.
    • Experience working for a carrier preferred, though body shop experience will also be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in auto estimating software (CCC, Audatex, or Mitchell) required.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of vehicle construction and repair methods.
  • Licensing:
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • MA State appraiser license or certification required.
    • CT license required for candidates covering the Granby, MA area.
  • Certifications: I-CAR or ASE certifications preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
