Renewal Underwriter - Commercial Lines

Job Summary

Looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Renewal Underwriter - Commercial Lines to join a dynamic and fast-growing team. This role is pivotal in managing and renewing a portfolio of contract binding property and casualty (P&C) accounts.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Review incoming renewal submissions and gather necessary information from agents.
• Assess whether policies align with underwriting guidelines and make recommendations accordingly.
• Prepare and present renewal quotes to agents.
• Issue binders and ensure timely processing of renewals.
• Manage a portfolio of 40-60 renewals monthly, depending on experience level.
• Handle accounts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 in premium, with an average of $15,000.
• Work with carriers such as USLI, RLI, AXA, Crum & Forster, AmTrust, Western World, and others.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in underwriting, specifically in the contract binding space.
• Licenses: Property & Casualty (P&C) license required.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with underwriting software and tools.
• Soft Skills: Highly organized, independent, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
• Preferred Background: Experience working with MGAs, wholesale brokers, or carriers such as CRC, Amwins, Bass, or USG.
• Location: Must reside in a western state (CA, WA, OR, TX, or AZ preferred).
