Claims Examiner - Carrier Oversight
Job Summary
Looking for a highly skilled and experienced Claims Examiner to join a team. This role involves overseeing claims sent to carriers, primarily focusing on General Liability (GL), Auto, and Professional Liability (PL).
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000
Responsibilities
- Review and manage assigned claims and litigation involving clients, developing and updating action plans until claims are resolved.
- Provide direction to outside counsel in handling client litigation as needed.
- Prepare and update Claim Status Reports, documenting actions and developments in each claim.
- Research, analyze, and prepare presentations on regulatory, legislative, and litigation developments impacting clients and carriers.
- Conduct legal research as required.
- Act as the primary contact for insurance reporting of potential and actual claims, ensuring timely responses to client and carrier-related inquiries.
- Handle Garage Liability claims for large Franchise Automobile Dealer Groups, including Dealer Physical Damage, Dealership Errors and Omissions, Employment Practices, and Excess Liability.
- Assist with monthly renewal accounts in preparation for client presentations.
- Collaborate with claims support staff to ensure efficient receipt and reporting of claims.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service while interacting with dealership General Managers and carrier adjusters.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant claims experience, including General Liability (GL), Professional Liability (PL), Bodily Injury (BI), Workers' Compensation (WC), and Cyber claims.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, functions, and formulas.
- Licensing: California Property & Casualty License required.
- Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of laws and regulations related to Commercial and Personal insurance.
- Familiarity with general litigation procedures and liability contract language.
- Knowledge of broker, third-party administration, and consultant roles and responsibilities.
