Job Summary
The Commercial Healthcare Account Executive is responsible for managing a portfolio of middle- to large-market healthcare clients with complex risk profiles. This role requires a Property & Casualty (P&C) license and at least 10 years of experience handling General Liability (GL) and Professional Liability (PL) in the healthcare sector. The Account Executive will provide strategic guidance, foster client relationships, grow new and existing business, and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients through proactive and ongoing outreach
- Conduct in-depth reviews of client operations to identify needs, emerging risks, and market opportunities
- Lead the preparation and coordination of Requests for Proposal (RFPs), including vendor selection, analysis of proposals, and presentation of recommendations
- Provide strategic consulting on coverage options, service offerings, fee structures, and goal alignment
- Review significant claims and utilization patterns with clients on a regular basis, offering insights and mitigation strategies
- Oversee “fee-at-risk” proposals and assist in assessing profitability for assigned accounts
- Collaborate on revenue-growth initiatives for both renewal and new business, setting and tracking targets
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and strategic plans within the healthcare specialty area
- Develop and nurture working relationships with carriers, broker servicing networks, and other service providers
- Serve as the primary escalation point for issue resolution between clients and vendors
- Lead market selection and placement strategies for new and renewal healthcare accounts
- Generate new business through cross-selling and targeted prospecting efforts
- Negotiate program terms, conditions, and pricing on behalf of healthcare clients
- Coordinate day-to-day administrative activities for assigned accounts, ensuring seamless support for claims, loss control, and other services
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior-level staff to enhance department knowledge and performance
- Conduct ongoing research on industry trends, product developments, and regulatory changes affecting healthcare clients
- Perform additional duties as required to support overall team objectives
Qualifications/Requirements
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license required
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in Healthcare GL and PL insurance
- Proven track record managing middle- to large-market healthcare accounts with complex risk profiles
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic planning, consultative advice, and detailed RFP analysis
- Strong analytical skills to review claims data, profitability metrics, and risk exposures
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience mentoring or training junior-level team members
- Proficiency in coordinating with carriers, vendors, and internal administrative teams
- Ability to negotiate program terms and costs effectively
- Deep understanding of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging products in the healthcare insurance space
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a consultative approach to client service
- Preferred: At least 10 years of working knowledge in Directors & Officers (D&O) Liability, Employment Practices Liability (EPLI), fiduciary, crime, and Errors & Omissions (E&O) coverages
