Our client is seeking a dedicated, and proactive Employee Benefits Customer Service Agent to join their team.

Qualifications:

  • Active L&H License
  • Minimum 3 years’ insurance brokerage or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of all lines of Group Benefits, including sophisticated and less common coverages.
  • Thorough knowledge of brokerage operations including claims handling, procedures, companies rating, agency management system, and applicable insurance laws/codes.
  • Experience and expertise in operating in electronic environment; excellent automation skills, including MS office, Outlook, Word, Excel, document management software, carrier proprietary systems, etc.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain expiration list and assure all policies are renewed or rewritten.
  • Maintain customer information in customer group folder.
  • Prepare proposals, complete rate comparisons, and complete census spreadsheets.
  • Prepare quarterly and semi-annual claim reviews for self-funded clients.
  • Order renewal policies and check in when received per agency procedure.
  • Contact customers to obtain necessary information to quote renewals.
  • Coordinate renewal process with current carriers.
  • Receive phone calls, faxes or e-mails from customers for policy endorsements and process per agency procedures.
  • Input new customer information, maintain and update current customers in EPIC.
  • Update Epic with activities.
  • Receive via phone, fax, or e-mail claim information from the insured and/or client, and work with dedicated claim specialists for resolution.
  • Follow up with the customer/insurance companies on direct bill issues.
  • Consult with Account Executive on prioritizing workflow.
  • Participate in training meetings, seminars to improve your skills and to meet licensing continuing educations requirements.
  • Stay up to date with federal, state, and local regulations impacting employee benefits, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other relevant laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist the producer with current customers and new business.
