Loss Control Specialist
Job Summary:
The Loss Control Specialist is responsible for evaluating commercial clients' risk profiles, analyzing safety practices, and providing guidance on strategies to reduce liabilities. The specialist collaborates closely with both clients and carriers to ensure that risk management solutions meet industry standards and align with client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Review and assess client risk profiles and safety practices to identify potential risks and hazards.
- Provide expert advice on loss prevention strategies, compliance with safety standards, and ways to reduce liability.
- Work with carriers and clients to develop customized risk management plans and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Evaluate safety documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
- Serve as a resource for clients and carriers, offering guidance on best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor industry trends, safety standards, and regulations to ensure that clients are informed and proactive in managing risks.
- Assist with quoting new and renewal business, if applicable, by providing risk assessments to support underwriting decisions.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in a risk management, loss control, or safety advisory role within insurance (or a related industry).
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, industry safety standards, and relevant regulations, such as OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to analyze complex safety data and develop actionable, practical solutions for clients.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain risk management strategies to clients and carriers.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on identifying and addressing potential risks before they escalate.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with insurance products and underwriting processes.
- Willingness/ability to travel as needed for client meetings and business engagements.
