Job Description
A property and casualty insurance company specializing in non‐ standard automobile insurance is growing and looking to add a Statutory Insurance Accountant to their team!
Responsibilities
- Prepare Statutory and GAAP financial statements by creating journal entries, reconciling operating expenses, and analyzing financial results.
- Oversee regulatory compliance deadlines, estimate and calculate taxes, and submit reports.
- Accurately report premium and claim cessions to Reinsurers monthly.
- Assist with company budgets and forecasts.
- Provide schedules and supporting documentation for financial audit fieldwork.
- Perform other accounting and financial tasks as requested.
- Experience with Escheatment a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 2-3 years of experience preparing Statutory and GAAP financial statements.
- Ability to assess and initiate tasks independently.
- Proficient in Excel, technology savvy, and adaptable to new systems and business tools.
- Strong detail-oriented, analytical; and technical abilities to review and evaluate.
- Ability to prioritize, communicate, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Competitive Salary $80K-$100K
