Senior General Liability Claims Representative - Property Damage

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior General Liability Claims Representative - Property Damage to join a team. This role involves managing general liability property damage claims under business owner policies, analyzing coverage issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders, including attorneys. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere in the United States.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year (based on qualifications and experience)

Responsibilities

  • Manage an active desk of general liability property damage claims under business owner policies.
  • Analyze coverage issues under various standard industry forms, including Business Owners, Excess and Umbrella, Garagekeepers, Hired/Non-Owned Auto, and Auto Services.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and position claims under applicable coverage.
  • Handle litigated claims and collaborate with defense counsel to strategize effectively.
  • Set reserves at appropriate levels and manage allocated loss adjustment expenses (ALAE).
  • Draft coverage letters and maintain proper documentation in claim files.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries with a sense of urgency.
  • Obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

Performance Requirements:

  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including proper grammar usage.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and internet applications.
  • High attention to detail and sound judgment in sensitive situations.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: BA/BS degree and 5+ years of general liability claims adjusting experience (or 10+ years of professional experience with 5+ years in GL claims as a substitute for a degree).
  • Preferred: CPCU or other industry designations.
  • Experience in litigated liability property damage/construction defects claims is essential.
  • State adjuster license(s) required.
