Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Self-Funded Employee Benefits Account Executive to join a team. This role is pivotal in managing the full lifecycle of a self-funded book of business, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in self-funded employee benefits, a proven ability to manage complex accounts, and a passion for delivering tailored solutions to meet client needs.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience.
  • Bonus/Commission: Percentage of commission on the managed book of business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for a book of approximately 10 accounts, with an average size of 500 lives (ranging from 100 to 3,000 lives).
  • Lead the lifecycle management of self-funded accounts, including renewals and service delivery.
  • Conduct approximately five client meetings per year as part of the standard service model.
  • Manage stop-loss, pharmacy benefits, captives, and point solutions for clients.
  • Act as the "quarterback" of the account, coordinating with internal teams and external carriers to ensure seamless service.
  • Utilize agency management systems, including Zywave and proprietary tools, to manage client accounts effectively.
  • Collaborate with top carriers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield (various regions), United Healthcare, Cigna, and Highmark.
  • Potentially travel for client presentations as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licenses/Designations: Active Life & Health (L&H) license and expertise in self-funded benefits.
  • Experience: Proven track record in managing self-funded employee benefits accounts, including stop-loss and pharmacy benefits.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in agency management systems (e.g., Zywave) and familiarity with industry-leading carriers.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Ability to lead and coordinate across teams.
