Commercial Lines Risk Consultant
Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Lines Risk Consultant to join a growing team. This role is pivotal in driving new business development, building strong relationships with C-suite executives and privately held companies, and delivering tailored risk management solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in middle-market commercial insurance, a polished professional demeanor, and the ability to prospect and close accounts effectively.
Compensation Package
- Base Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on experience and performance.
- Commission Structure:
- First-year new business commission at 90%.
- Renewal business commission at 25%.
- Additional incentives for referrals to the banking division. -
Responsibilities
- Business Development:
- Prospect, solicit, and close middle-market commercial accounts with a focus on accounts generating $20,000+ in revenue.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives and privately held companies.
- Leverage banking and wealth advisory partnerships to generate referrals.
- Risk Management:
- Analyze client needs and design tailored risk management programs.
- Collaborate with senior account executives and service teams to deliver strategic consulting and exceptional client service.
- Account Growth:
- Expand into targeted industries such as private equity, real estate, manufacturing, transportation, hospitality, and municipalities.
- Develop and grow the surety book of business.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with inside sales teams and other departments to maximize opportunities.
- Foster long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in commercial insurance, with a focus on middle-market accounts.
- Proven ability to prospect and close accounts effectively.
- Familiarity with industries such as private equity, real estate, manufacturing, and transportation is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Polished professional demeanor with the ability to engage with C-suite executives.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and eager to perfect their craft.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with Applied EPIC or similar insurance software.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Relevant insurance licenses and designations preferred.
- Work Environment:
- On-site role with a focus on relationship building and collaboration.
- Willingness to travel locally as needed to meet clients and partners.
