Senior Claims Representative - Professional Liability
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Representative to join a team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of miscellaneous professional liability claims, including both litigated and non-litigated cases. This position requires a strong understanding of coverage analysis, claim resolution strategies, and litigation management.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually

Responsibilities
- Manage an active desk of litigated and non-litigated claims of varying complexity under miscellaneous professional liability coverages.
- Evaluate coverage issues, identify risk transfer opportunities, and draft detailed coverage letters.
- Recognize exposures and ensure reserves are adequate and timely.
- Proactively manage claim resolution, including forming and implementing resolution strategies, settlement valuation, and obtaining settlement authority.
- Manage litigation by selecting appropriate experts, planning, budgeting, and partnering with defense counsel.
- Actively participate in mediations, trials, and other related meetings as needed.
- Maintain adjuster licenses as required and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
- Document claim files thoroughly and accurately.
- Manage allocated loss adjustment expenses through strategic handling and bill review/payment processing.
Qualifications/Requirements

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
- Industry designations such as AIC, SCLA, or CPCU are a plus.

Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience handling professional liability claims preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience managing an active desk of litigated and non-litigated claims.
- Experience with Errors & Omissions (E&O) claims is required.
- Experience with Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) is highly desired.

Licenses:
- Active adjuster license in at least one state is required.

- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and internet applications.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to execute sound judgment in sensitive situations.
- Highly attentive to detail and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred Knowledge
- Prior experience handling litigated claims.
- Familiarity with managing claims for a variety of professions, including real estate agents, insurance agents, lawyers, accountants, and more.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual office environment.
