Responsibilities

As a Contract Surety Underwriter, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing financial statements, job schedules, credit reports, and other underwriting documentation to assess risk and determine appropriate coverage terms.
  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant underwriting or related experience.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to evaluate financial statements and credit reports.
  • Proven ability to assess and price risk independently.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of surety or bond underwriting is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
