Workers' Compensation Program Specialist (Remote)

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Program Specialist to join a team in a fully remote capacity. This professional role is integral to supporting the workers' compensation program, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements. Reporting directly to the Workers' Compensation Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program efficiency and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of workers' compensation claims management.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $60,500 - $84,700 (negotiable based on experience) + bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support for the workers' compensation program.
  • Assist in coordinating the workers' compensation claims process.
  • Ensure timely reporting of claims and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support local teams with information and guidance on managing claims.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Safety, Operations) and external partners (insurance carriers, TPAs) to identify process improvements and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee medical and claim information.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of return-to-work and light-duty programs.
  • Prepare and distribute workers' compensation reports as directed.
  • Coordinate meetings and training sessions related to workers' compensation.
  • Perform additional safety-related administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Risk Management, Occupational Safety, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in workers' compensation, safety programs, HR, or risk management.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation principles, including incident reporting and return-to-work concepts.
  • Experience collaborating with insurance carriers or TPAs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
