Commercial Insurance Account Executive

Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Commercial Insurance Account Executive to join a team. This role is pivotal in managing and servicing assigned commercial insurance clients, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure exceptional service, client retention, and account growth. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of commercial insurance, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to deliver tailored risk management solutions.

Responsibilities

Client Service & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned commercial accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and regular account reviews.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and educate clients on coverage options, exclusions, and risk management strategies.
  • Handle complex coverage discussions and manage service or claim escalations.
  • Conduct account review and stewardship meetings with clients.

Account Renewal Process

  • Manage and oversee the full renewal lifecycle.
  • Conduct renewal strategy meetings with clients and producers.
  • Develop and execute renewal strategies, negotiate terms with underwriters, and coordinate renewal meetings.

Marketing & Carrier Relations

  • Market new and renewal business to appropriate carriers to secure competitive and comprehensive coverage options.
  • Prepare presentations, collaborate with producers, and attend new business meetings as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with carrier underwriters.
  • Negotiate pricing, coverage terms, and conditions to meet client needs.

Cross-Selling & Account Growth

  • Identify coverage gaps and cross-sell additional lines of coverage when appropriate.
  • Support producers in identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Contribute to agency revenue growth through strong retention and account rounding.

Accountability for Client Satisfaction

  • Serve as the ultimate backup for all client service duties, including those of the Senior Account Manager and Account Coordinator.
  • Ensure all client interactions and deliverables meet agency standards for accuracy, professionalism, and timeliness.

Agency Standards & Team Collaboration

  • Maintain detailed documentation of all transactions, emails, and conversations in the agency management system (EPIC).
  • Participate in carrier meetings, agency-level meetings, and community service initiatives.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to team members, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial insurance experience within an independent agency.
  • Strong understanding of commercial coverages.
  • Active Property and Casualty insurance license.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems (Applied EPIC preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts and build strong client relationships.
  • Commitment to professional development and adherence to agency standards.
