Job Summary

Seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Lines Manager to lead and oversee the commercial lines department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the department, managing a team of 15 professionals, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and growth. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a passion for fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

  • Work Schedule: Flexible working schedules, including the option for every other Friday as a half-day or day off.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the commercial lines department, overseeing a team of 15 professionals.
  • Supervise daily operations, including renewals, PTO management, and team accountability.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Manage carrier relationships and appointments, ensuring strong partnerships.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and staffing needs for the department.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to align the department with the agency's long-term goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and maintain broad knowledge of insurance coverage and operations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licenses/Certifications: Property & Casualty (P&C) license required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in commercial insurance, with proven management experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Broad understanding of the insurance industry, including oil & gas, construction, hospitality, financial institutions, and more.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EPIC software is preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong character, empathy, and the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans for departmental growth and improvement.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
