Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Relationship Manager to join a team. This role is pivotal in managing and growing a specialized book of high-net-worth personal lines business, with a strong emphasis on yacht and marine risks. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in marine insurance, including Hull, Protection & Indemnity (P&I), and ancillary coverages, as well as a solid understanding of broader personal and commercial lines insurance products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver exceptional client service, guide placement strategies, and support business development efforts.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 annually
  • 401(k): Employer match up to 4%
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (based out of an office in Washington or California)
  • Travel: Travel may be required to meet with clients as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead service and placement for a specialized book of high-net-worth clients, focusing on yacht and marine exposures.
  • Develop and execute renewal strategies, including market selection, coverage analysis, and claims reviews.
  • Negotiate optimal terms and conditions with carriers, leveraging strong market relationships.
  • Prepare executive summaries, proposals, and stewardship reports tailored to the unique needs of marine clients.
  • Act as the escalation point for client concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for yacht and marine insurance, advising clients and internal teams on coverage options, risk mitigation, and claims handling.
  • Review client contracts and marine-related documentation to ensure proper coverage alignment.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance standards to mitigate E&O exposure.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, with a strong focus on marine risks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of both Commercial and Personal Lines insurance.
  • In-depth knowledge of yacht insurance, including Hull, P&I, crew coverage, and related marine lines.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with carriers and manage complex placements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance license(s) required.
  • Experience with AMS360 or Applied Epic software is a plus.
