Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Actuary to join a team. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of actuarial strategies across multiple product lines of insurance. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing, reserving, and financial analysis, while collaborating with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure the company's financial success and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Compensation Package
- Competitive annual salary: $115,000 - $125,000

Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage projects related to pricing and reserving.
- Lead the ratemaking process and develop pricing indications to achieve underwriting profitability.
- Conduct quarterly rate adequacy reviews, internal rate indications, and analysis of internal and external data.
- Support and enhance pricing tools and methodologies for data capture and analysis.
- Manage the rate filing process and interact with regulatory authorities, including testifying as required.
- Review and implement new product strategies, designs, and rate changes.
- Perform reserve analysis, including quarterly reserve reviews and monthly IBNR roll forwards.
- Collaborate with accounting, external actuaries, and auditors to ensure accurate financial statements and reconciliations.
- Provide data and insights to support actuarial, product, underwriting, and reserving initiatives.
- Perform data manipulation, analysis, and automation, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other departments.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in actuarial and data methods.
- Lead special projects related to ratemaking, reserving, and financial analysis.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of actuarial experience, with a preference for homeowners and commercial lines experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong data and programming experience in an insurance environment.
- Proficient knowledge of SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar database languages.
- Proficient knowledge of R, Python, VBA, or similar programming languages.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Project management skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) highly desired.
- Commitment to attaining Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) is preferred but not required.
