Sr. Commercial Property Field Adjuster

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Commercial Property Field Adjuster to join a Claims Department.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $75,000 - $85,000+ (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze commercial property claims, including coverage, damage, and reserve adequacy.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of properties such as churches, colleges, schools, camps, and missions.
  • Assess damages, estimate repair costs using Xactimate software, and determine appropriate policy coverage.
  • Handle claims exceeding $500,000, ensuring prompt, fair, and equitable resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, agents, public adjusters, attorneys, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of claims files.
  • Identify opportunities for cost containment, loss mitigation, and subrogation recovery.
  • Participate in mediations, legal proceedings, and training programs as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to other claims personnel and assist in training new team members.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree or CPCU designation required.
    • A CPCU designation is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property claims with an insurance carrier or independent adjuster.
    • Experience handling claims over $500,000.
    • Commercial construction contracting or estimating experience is a plus.
    • Litigation experience is beneficial.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in estimating software (Xactimate preferred).
    • Strong negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Thorough understanding of construction, property coverage issues, and building trade practices.
    • Ability to make independent decisions and effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel long distances.
