Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Complex Casualty Claims Specialist to join our client's claims organization. This individual will handle and provide technical expertise on the most complex, high-severity casualty claims. The role requires strong coverage analysis, negotiation skills, and the ability to serve as a trusted resource for claims staff and leadership on technical matters.

Compensation:

  • $180,000 - $200,000/year (based on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve complex casualty claims, including general liability, auto liability, and umbrella/excess exposures.
  • Provide advanced coverage interpretation, claim strategy, and litigation management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and technical resource for claim adjusters and managers.
  • Partner with defense counsel and other experts to drive favorable outcomes.
  • Conduct in-depth file reviews and audits to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
  • Deliver training, mentorship, and technical guidance to claims staff.
  • Monitor emerging trends, changes in case law, and industry practices to inform claims handling strategy.
  • Engage in direct communication with clients, brokers, reinsurers, and other stakeholders on high-profile matters.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of casualty claims handling experience, with significant exposure to complex and high-severity cases.
  • Strong technical expertise in liability coverage, litigation management, and claims resolution strategies.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex issues, negotiate effectively, and make sound decisions.
  • Experience mentoring, training, or providing technical oversight to other claims professionals.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, CPCU, AIC, or other industry designations preferred.
  • Adjuster license(s) preferred or willingness to obtain if required.
