Marine Account Executive / Junior Producer

Job Summary

This role involves managing a portfolio of Commercial Marine accounts, focusing on client service, business development, and strategic placement of insurance solutions. The position will transition into a Producer capacity, emphasizing the identification and development of new business opportunities within the Commercial Marine sector. Responsibilities include implementing market consolidation strategies, negotiating optimal terms and conditions for clients, and ensuring seamless communication with clients, particularly in the early morning hours to accommodate the schedules of marine professionals.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 depending on experience.
  • 401(k): Employer match up to 4%.
  • Work Arrangement: Flexible options for candidates based along the Oregon/Washington coast or those willing to travel as needed.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to client accounts as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and service a book of Commercial Marine accounts.
  • Develop and implement placement strategies, including market consolidation initiatives.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with insurance markets to secure optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Transition into a Producer role, focusing on business development and growth of the Commercial Marine portfolio.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, often during early morning hours, to accommodate their schedules.
  • Quote and renew business, with an initial focus on renewals before transitioning to production and growth activities.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Marine insurance sector.
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license.
  • Familiarity with AMS360 or Applied Epic software is preferred but not required.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop strategic insurance solutions.
  • Willingness to travel to client accounts as needed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, to meet client needs.
