Job Title: Director of Personal Lines

 

Job Summary:
The Director of Personal Lines is responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic direction, operational consistency, and growth of personal lines business across a multi-agency platform. This leadership role involves close collaboration with cross-functional departments and agency partners to align goals, strengthen market presence, and optimize carrier relationships. The position plays a critical role in standardizing operations, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and enhancing client retention initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and consistency across personal lines operations
  • Lead personal lines teams and foster high-performance culture across agency partners
  • Align business objectives with agency partners to support retention, cross-selling, and long-term success
  • Participate in the evaluation and integration planning for acquired agencies and their personal lines operations
  • Collaborate with revenue and carrier relations leadership to manage and expand market access and carrier partnerships
  • Coordinate with finance leadership to monitor revenue metrics, carrier economics, and margin goals
  • Work with integration teams to ensure operational consistency and best practice implementation across all personal lines functions
  • Support producers and sales teams to enhance client engagement and cross-sell opportunities

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in personal lines insurance, including 3+ years in a senior or leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-location or multi-agency personal lines operations
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines products, underwriting practices, and carrier relationships
  • Proven leadership experience in building and guiding high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
  • Experience supporting M&A activity and operational integration preferred
  • Active Michigan Property & Casualty license required
