Job Title: E&O Claims Adjuster
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced E&O Claims Adjuster with strong expertise in handling complex Professional Liability claims, particularly within the Real Estate sector. This role involves the end-to-end management of claims, including investigation, coverage analysis, litigation oversight, and collaboration with legal counsel and underwriting teams. A high level of independence, critical thinking, and claims expertise is required to drive optimal resolutions.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a full caseload of E&O claims, including investigation, litigation management, coverage analysis, and claim resolution strategies.
- Draft comprehensive coverage correspondence, including Reservation of Rights and Disclaimer of Coverage letters.
- Manage external counsel and experts, with a focus on expense control and achieving cost-effective outcomes.
- Collaborate with underwriting and claims leadership to share insights, trends, and claim developments.
- Attend mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, and trial monitoring, both virtually and in person.
- Maintain thorough documentation and timely execution of claim handling steps from initial intake to closure.
- Communicate effectively with insureds, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders throughout the life of the claim.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; J.D. preferred.
- 8–10+ years of experience handling insurance claims, ideally within an insurance carrier or TPA setting.
- Specific experience with Real Estate E&O or Professional Liability claims strongly preferred.
- Multi-state adjuster licenses a plus.
- Strong understanding of insurance policy interpretation and legal document analysis.
- Proven ability to write detailed, accurate coverage letters.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent judgment and ability to make prompt, informed decisions.
- Highly organized and deadline-driven, with a focus on achieving key performance objectives.
