Job Summary
Provide essential administrative support to commercial lines agents by managing policy documentation, ensuring accuracy in renewals, and facilitating effective communication between clients, carriers, and internal teams. The Commercial CSR plays a key role in maintaining client satisfaction and supporting day-to-day operations of the commercial lines department.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate and issue Certificates of Insurance according to client and carrier requirements
  • Process policy endorsements, including additions, deletions, and coverage changes
  • Review renewal documents for accuracy prior to submission to agents and carriers
  • Maintain and update policy files, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly stored
  • Serve as a liaison between agents, clients, carriers, and underwriters to resolve policy-related inquiries
  • Enter and update policy data in agency management software and ensure data integrity
  • Assist agents with gathering loss runs, quoting information, and other support tasks as needed
  • Handle inbound customer inquiries regarding billing, claims status, and coverage questions, escalating when necessary
  • Monitor expiration schedules and notify agents of upcoming renewals, endorsements, or policy expirations
  • Coordinate with carriers to verify coverage details, track policy issuance, and manage cancellations or reinstatements

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Valid Property & Casualty (P&C) license required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a commercial lines customer service or support role (or equivalent insurance-related experience)
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for interacting with clients, carriers, and internal teams
  • Proficiency with agency management software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment and meet deadlines consistently
  • Customerservice orientation with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Basic understanding of commercial insurance products, coverages, and industry terminology
