About the Role

Weโ€™re urgently hiring for an Employee Benefits Retention Business Consultant to join our growing team. This is a strategic, client-facing role that focuses on relationship management, client retention, and consulting โ€” with the potential to grow into an Account Executive position.

You'll work closely with Benefit Consultants and support key employer groups across various lines of coverage, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Spending Accounts, Group Life & AD&D, Disability, and Voluntary Benefits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and retain a book of existing employee benefits clients

  • Lead renewal strategy, negotiations, and carrier/vendor relationships

  • Conduct pre-renewal and renewal meetings, claims utilization reviews, and compliance updates

  • Build strong, multi-level client relationships โ€” from executives to HR teams

  • Present benefit strategies, compliance updates, and legislative information to clients

  • Develop client communications and stewardship reports

  • Conduct annual open enrollment meetings and support benefits-related tech tools

  • Collaborate with producers to develop tailored benefit strategies and proposals

  • Identify opportunities to introduce new products or service solutions

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of market trends, compliance requirements, and best practices


What We're Looking For

  • Licensing: Active Life & Health (L&H) license

  • Experience: Minimum 8ย years in employee benefits; self-funded experience highly preferred

  • Strong understanding of benefit plan design, funding strategies, and compliance

  • Comfortable presenting to clients and leading strategic conversations

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to support clients using benefits technology solutions

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and client service skills
