Job Description
Reputable and longstanding agency in New York is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will work to ensure efficient operations in areas such as auditing, compliance, agency billing, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to multitask effectively, and possess a solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
Candidate must understand general ledger, journal entries, reconciliation on bank accounts, payroll, P&Ls, etc. Insurance agency accounting is a preferred. Must have experience with Applied EPIC.
Responsibilities:
- Data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assist with commission downloads and payments.
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
- Support the management of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Prepare and process invoices and payments.
- Perform regular checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of account records.
- Must have experience with Applied EPIC
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, and tax filings.
- Stay updated on relevant industry laws and regulations.
- Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Benefits:

- Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30
- Hybrid- M-Thur in office. Friday remote
