Employee Benefits Account Executive (Large Group)
Hybrid in ATL, GA. $85-$100k+

Job Summary:

The Employee Benefits Account Executive (Large Group) is responsible for managing a portfolio of large group clients (typically 100+ employees) by providing strategic consulting and guidance on employee benefits programs. This role involves building strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and offering solutions that align with their objectives. The Account Executive will also work closely with internal teams and carriers to design, negotiate, and implement comprehensive benefits packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for large group clients.
    • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
    • Conduct regular meetings with clients to review benefits performance, identify needs, and propose solutions.
    • Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance on employee benefits planning, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
  • Benefits Program Design & Implementation:
    • Collaborate with clients to design and implement competitive and cost-effective employee benefits programs.
    • Work with insurance carriers to negotiate terms and pricing for benefits packages, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and wellness programs.
    • Lead the renewal process, including plan evaluations, carrier negotiations, and presenting options to clients.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure that benefits programs comply with federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA).
    • Assist clients in navigating compliance issues and recommend strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:
    • Analyze benefits program performance, claims data, and trends to provide clients with insights and recommendations.
    • Prepare financial reports and presentations to help clients understand the cost implications of their benefits packages.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with account managers, benefits analysts, and other internal team members to deliver superior client service.
    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely implementation and renewal of benefits programs.
  • Client Education & Communication:
    • Conduct employee education sessions, webinars, and meetings to communicate benefits offerings and changes.
    • Develop communication materials and tools to help clients and employees understand their benefits options.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits, with a focus on large groups.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits plans, including health insurance, retirement, and ancillary benefits.
  • Proven experience in client relationship management and consulting.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial data and claims experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Preferred:

  • CEBS, GBA, or other industry certifications.
  • Experience working with insurance carriers and benefits brokers.
