Job Description
Our client is currently seeking to add a New York Workers Compensation Claims Specialist that would be Hybrid, 2 days a week in Long Island, NY. This role will consist of handling Workers Compensation Lost-time claims from inception to close. Qualified candidates must possess an active New York Adjuster’s License.
- Handle moderately complex workers compensation claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager.
- Research and formulate a basis on which coverage decisions will be made, conduct thorough investigations, manage medical treatment, influence early full return-to-work, guide litigation and control claim outcomes.
- Negotiate settlements with injured workers and attorneys.
- Responsibilities also include active file management, effective reserving practices, participation in training activities, presentation of serious claims to committee and supervision of litigated files.
- Consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and adherence to department Best Practices.
Salary/Benefits:
- $40.00+ per hour (Based on experience)
Requirements:
- 2 or more years of Workers' Compensation Lost Time claims handling experience
- New York Adjusters license
- Experience handling litigated files.
- Ability to work Hybrid. 2 days a week in Long Island, New York
