Senior General Liability Claims Examiner
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior General Liability Claims Examiner to join a team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of complex, high-severity Excess & Surplus (E&S) General Liability claims, including litigated matters. You will play a critical role in conducting thorough coverage analysis, leading investigations, and driving strategic claim resolutions. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office.
Compensation Package
- Base Salary: $110,000 to $130,000 per year (up to $140,000 for exceptional candidates)
- Annual Bonus: Target bonus of 5% - 10%

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 120-140 complex, high-severity E&S General Liability claims, including litigated matters.
- Conduct thorough coverage analysis and interpret policy language to determine liability and exposure.
- Lead investigations by coordinating with insureds, brokers, claimants, and legal counsel.
- Establish and maintain accurate reserves in accordance with company guidelines.
- Develop and execute strategic claim resolution plans, including negotiation and settlement.
- Direct and manage defense counsel, including litigation strategy and cost containment.
- Maintain detailed and accurate claim documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with underwriting and risk management teams to identify trends and exposures.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience handling General Liability claims, including complex and litigated cases.
- Strong expertise in coverage analysis and policy interpretation.
- Proven experience managing defense counsel and driving litigation strategy.
- E&S or specialty lines experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume, complex caseload independently.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; industry designations such as CPCU, AIC, or SCLA are a plus.
