Why This Role

We are seeking a Claims Manager to report directly to the Personal Lines Vice President. In this full-time role, you will lead the charge in facilitating efficient claims resolutions (80%) while providing specialized loss control support to clients (20%). This role combines problem-solving, relationship management, and real impact.

In this role, you will:

· Guide clients through the claims process in a timely manner with empathy and expertise

· Advocate for clients on coverage denials, Reservation of Rights letters and high-exposure settlements

· Build relationships that foster client and carrier trust, loyalty, and long-term retention

· Partner with producers and the Commercial Lines Manager to develop tailored risk management strategies for clients

· Stay current on legal, regulatory and market changes that may impact claims and ability to mitigate risk

· Keep client records up to date in AMS360 or claims database with accurate notes and activity

· Provide input to the Partners on how to improve coverage language or limits based on claim outcome and emerging risks

· Conduct risk assessments and loss analyses

· Collaborate with insurance carriers on renewal negotiations

What You Need to Bring

• Active Property & Casualty Producer and/or Adjuster license (required)
• Preferred credentials: CIC, AIC, CRM
• Technical expertise in Property & Casualty coverage lines
• Experience as a Claims Manager 5+ years
• Strong communication skills and negotiation skills to achieve favorable claim outcomes and influence carrier decisions on behalf of clients
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment

Liability Claims Manager

Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced and motivated Liability Claims Manager to join a team. This role involves managing a team of claims adjusters, overseeing the claims process, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property Damage, Bodily Injury, and Litigation claims. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office.

Compensation Package

• Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the claims team, including workflow distribution and performance management.
• Provide training, guidance, and evaluations to team members to ensure high-quality claims processing.
• Review and analyze policy conditions, exclusions, and endorsements to resolve coverage and liability issues.
• Investigate claims, gather evidence, and document findings.
• Negotiate, settle, and resolve claims with claimants and insureds.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
• Manage and direct independent adjusters and third-party vendors.
• Collaborate with underwriting management to prepare and execute business plans and budgets.
• Provide leadership and communication to promote the company’s mission, values, and culture.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience handling claims in the following areas:
  • General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property Damage, Bodily Injury, and Litigation
  • Complex coverage analysis and claims administration
• At least 5 years of experience managing a claims team.
• Adjuster license required.
• Strong understanding of contractual indemnity and additional insured issues.
• Professional designations such as CPCU or AIC are highly desirable.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in claims-related software and technology.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

CGL Claims Director

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for assigned claims units, including severity and litigation management.
• Develop, plan, and implement strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve business objectives and performance metrics.
• Oversee high-severity and complex claims, participating in handling, reserving, and resolution discussions.
• Collaborate with senior claims management to develop defensive strategies for severe or complex claims.
• Manage and evaluate the company’s most severe and complex claims, including coverage, liability, and damages analysis.
• Make settlement decisions for cases exceeding Claims Manager authority levels, within delegated limits.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in claims and commercial property and/or casualty insurance, with expertise in managing complex claims and litigation.

• Advanced knowledge of claims operating practices, litigation laws, and regulations.

Claim Director/Team Lead - Commercial Auto/Trucking Major Case Unit

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claim Director/Team Lead to oversee and manage a Commercial Auto/Trucking Major Case Unit. This role involves leading a team of claim professionals, handling high-exposure and complex bodily injury claims, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective claim resolution. The position is based in a hybrid work environment, requiring three days per week onsite at one of the office locations.

Compensation Package

• Base Salary Range: $135,000 - $190,000 per year
• Bonus Opportunity: Up to 25% annual bonus

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Technical Claim Managers and Directors to ensure high performance.
• Oversee the handling of high-exposure, complex bodily injury claims across the United States and Canada, with claim values ranging from $1M to $10M.
• Investigate and analyze complex coverage issues, draft coverage letters, and implement claim resolution strategies.
• Manage litigation, including selecting and directing defense counsel, and independently handle mediations and trials for complex claims.
• Collaborate with Underwriting to address developments impacting product lines.
• Present cases to senior leadership, including Vice Presidents and Executive Vice Presidents, articulating strategies and recommendations effectively.
• Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance experience in commercial transportation claims.
• Alternatively, a Juris Doctorate with 5+ years of transportation/insurance defense litigation experience will be considered.
• Proven claim handling and leadership experience in trucking, bus, and/or commercial auto claims or litigation is preferred.
• Strong ability to manage and develop a team of skilled claim professionals.
• Expertise in proactive claim handling, including investigation, attorney management, and resolution.
• Superior written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with insureds, underwriters, claimants, and other professionals.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines effectively.

CGL Claims Manager

• Handle complex claims involving sensitive or confidential information as needed.
• Review and approve coverage letters, regulatory responses, and Large Loss Reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of insurance experience, with significant expertise in commercial general liability claims handling.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Guidewire ClaimsCenter is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPCU, AIC, or other insurance-related certifications are preferred.
