Property Damage / Cargo Claims Adjuster
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Damage / Cargo Claims Adjuster to join a growing team. This role involves investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving commercial cargo and transportation claims in alignment with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial claims, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to claims management.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $67,000–$87,000 annually
- Employment Type: Direct Hire and Temp-to-Hire opportunities available

Responsibilities
- Investigate all aspects of loss, including coverage, liability, and damages.
- Evaluate and negotiate trucking claims, with a focus on cargo/freight claims and first-party physical damage claims.
- Handle complex and high-exposure claims, including directing on-site investigations when necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports and present claim summaries during client reviews.
- Identify subrogation or fraud potential and develop appropriate handling strategies.
- Maintain active state adjuster licensure in relevant jurisdictions.
- Collaborate effectively with insureds, brokers, carriers, surveyors, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
- Work independently while contributing to the broader claims team.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Licensure: Active designated home-state adjuster license; ability to obtain reciprocal licenses as needed.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of commercial claims experience.
- Strong backgrounds in Commercial Auto, Commercial Trucking, Cargo, First-party Physical Damage, or Commercial Transportation Claims.
- Direct trucking experience is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong claims judgment and analytical ability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload of approximately 80–120 claims.
- Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office.
- Preferred: Willingness to work Mountain or Pacific Time business hours.
Note: Candidates with personal auto claims experience or primarily Uber/Lyft claims backgrounds are not a fit for this role.
