About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established insurance organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Risk Analyst to join their growing team. This is a highly specialized role focused on complex coverage analysis, risk evaluation, and claim strategy.
This position is ideal for a seasoned claims professional or attorney with extensive experience interpreting insurance policies, drafting Reservation of Rights (ROR) letters, handling tender requests, and providing detailed coverage analyses. The individual will serve as a trusted technical resource, partnering closely with claims leadership and defense counsel on high-exposure matters.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex insurance policies and provide comprehensive coverage opinions.
- Draft Reservation of Rights (ROR), Disclaimer, and Coverage Position letters.
- Review and evaluate tenders of defense and indemnity.
- Perform detailed coverage analyses involving primary, excess, umbrella, and specialty insurance policies.
- Identify and evaluate potential coverage issues, exclusions, endorsements, and policy triggers.
- Provide strategic recommendations regarding liability exposure and claim resolution.
- Collaborate with claims professionals, underwriting, legal counsel, and management on complex claims.
- Assist in litigation strategy and monitor high-exposure claims involving complex legal and coverage issues.
- Research emerging case law and regulatory developments impacting claim handling and coverage interpretation.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to claims staff regarding coverage interpretation and best practices.
- Participate in large-loss reviews, claim audits, and risk management initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of insurance claims, coverage, or insurance defense experience.
- Extensive experience drafting:
- Reservation of Rights (ROR) letters
- Disclaimer letters
- Coverage position letters
- Tender responses
- Advanced knowledge of Commercial General Liability (CGL)
- Strong understanding of policy interpretation and insurance contract law.
- Experience analyzing complex multi-party liability claims.
- Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and ability to explain complex coverage issues to both legal and non-legal audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority matters simultaneously.
Salary/Benefits:
- $100K - $130K Annually (based on experience)
