Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Regulatory Compliance Analyst to centralize and oversee regulatory compliance processes within a growing insurance organization.

This individual will serve as a key liaison among underwriting, actuarial, operations, technology, policy services, rating bureaus, regulators, third-party administrators, and external business partners. The role will monitor regulatory developments, coordinate filing activity, resolve data and reporting issues, and ensure required changes are communicated and implemented across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of workers’ compensation regulations with the communication, organization, and influence required to coordinate multiple departments, establish accountability, and move filings and regulatory initiatives through to completion.

The Role

  • Monitor workers’ compensation laws, regulations, rating-bureau updates, circulars, forms, endorsements, rates, rules, and state filing requirements.
  • Evaluate regulatory developments and determine their impact on policies, systems, procedures, and business operations.
  • Prepare and review workers’ compensation form, rate, rule, and endorsement filing packages.
  • Coordinate filing activity with external actuarial and regulatory partners.
  • Manage Department of Insurance questions, objections, revisions, edits, and follow-up requests.
  • Review filing materials and supporting data for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Track filing deadlines, approvals, implementation requirements, and outstanding items.
  • Serve as the central liaison among underwriting, actuarial, operations, technology, policy services, compliance, rating bureaus, and external partners.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into clear departmental responsibilities, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate the implementation of approved forms, endorsements, rates, rules, and other regulatory changes.
  • Identify and resolve incomplete, conflicting, or inaccurate information that may affect filings or implementation.
  • Develop and maintain standardized compliance procedures, tracking tools, documentation, and internal controls.
  • Analyze policy, regulatory, filing, and operational data to identify discrepancies and required corrections.
  • Work with external reporting partners to resolve questions and data issues.
  • Support internal compliance reviews, audits, and quality-control activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of national and state-specific workers’ compensation requirements.

Required Experience / Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of workers’ compensation regulatory compliance, product compliance, filings, or related insurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation forms, endorsements, rates, rules, classifications, and state filing requirements.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing multi-state regulatory filing packages.
  • Hands-on experience with workers’ compensation regulatory filing systems.
  • Working knowledge of national rating-bureau requirements, manuals, circulars, forms, endorsements, rules, and state adoption requirements.
  • Experience coordinating rate filings and working with actuarial partners.
  • Experience responding to regulatory objections, revisions, and filing-related correspondence.
  • Experience reviewing policy language and coordinating regulatory changes across departments.
  • Strong data-analysis, research, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to centralize processes and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate technical regulatory requirements clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple filings, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with secure file-transfer tools, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Workers’ compensation carrier, fund, rating bureau, consulting, or regulatory experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annually.
  • Discretionary bonus opportunity.
  • Comprehensive benefits package and paid time off.
  • Hybrid or remote work arrangement.
  • This is an individual-contributor position with the potential to support the future development of a broader internal compliance function.
