Commercial Insurance Property Broker

Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Insurance Property Broker to join a dynamic team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in property placements or an experienced marketing broker ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build and grow a book of business while leveraging market relationships, technical expertise, and entrepreneurial drive.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers, identify sources, creatively place risks, and uncover new product opportunities.

  • Manage accounts of varying sizes, with a focus on developing and handling complex property placements independently.

  • Identify and cultivate new brokerage markets and products to expand business opportunities.

  • Travel and meet with clients and prospects to strengthen relationships and support business growth.

  • Work independently while assisting with the training and development of less experienced brokers.

  • Develop and submit underwriting referrals to brokerage facilities and management as required.

  • Monitor key performance metrics, including new business production, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios, and implement corrective actions when necessary.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support the professional development of team members.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience, preferably with property placement expertise.

  • Strong sales and marketing skills with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continued education and professional development.

  • RPLU designation preferred but not required.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed to support client and business development activities.
